I have a copy of Robert Penn Warren's "All the King's Men" dated 1946 but that is all the information I see from the copyright page. How can I tell when it was actually published? It doesn't say First Edition, could it be an advance copy?
The book is from my dad's personal library. I know he had it in college in 1950 as it has his name and fraternity written on the inside cover. The book was published at the time his father (my grandfather) was governor of Connecticut.
