I don't know anything about Fenton, I just had 50 cents burning a hole in my pocket so I spent it on this dish. This dish does have a nice weight, and M&Ms look so pretty in it! :-)

nutsabotas6 - Thanks! I have looked until I was crosseyed, and it was very hard to find any photos of the underneath side of the foot on these compote dishes. I noticed your Fenton has a smooth bottom, whereas mine has a diamond design. That's why I am wondering if it's a copy. This one is also a diamond pattern instead of hobnail.
I meant to write star design. It's late here and I ought to be in bed. :-)
I had one of those. It 'might' be made by Stiver, Italy. Here is their website... http://www.stiver.it/index2.html
Thanks, tigerchips! I'll look into it.

That doesn't look like Fenton's hobnail style, more of an English hobnail. Perhaps TallCakes might know?
Whatever the case, I'm sure it was worth 50 cents. It's beautiful.
Thanks, everybody! Over the Christmas holidays I will fill it with boozy chocolate covered cherries.
Oh that would be perfect, Bonnie, yum!!!!
Christmas is coming soon, Kathy....
thanks for the love/comments, everyone!
