In keeping with the red marbled theme, I was delighted to find this 7" vase by James Lundberg (1948-1992). The brick red marbled glass recalls pieces produced decades earlier by firms such as Rindskopf, Harrach, and Riedel. Jim Lundberg was trained in ceramics and had an obsession with the Art Nouveau period. He was introduced to glassblowing in 1968, and started his own studio in 1970. This beautiful vase is signed and dated Lundberg 11/72 - the same year that he received his master's degree in art at San Jose State College. James Lundberg died tragically after being struck by a car in 1992.
