**November 6, 2015. Added images of a piece of newspaper found behind the mirror in the cabinet. No date or newspaper name along the margins but there is a subscription form. Its appears to be a page of a 1922 London Daily Times. Presuming my cabinet came from or was made in London around that year.
I found this in a local "antique" store; they got it from an estate sale so I was told. I call it the bat cabinet because of the odd brass bat emblem on the lower part of the cabinet. It has other odd brass pieces I have not been able to find in order to help identify the cabinet in anyway. There are no "maker/manufacturer" markings that I have found. The inside back is covered in a very old black velvet, it and the wood it covers are falling apart. The wood frame holding the glass is also old and very fragile. There are 8 shelves, only 7 of the original glass shelves came with it. The cabinet is 5" deep x 15" wide by 52" tall. The base of the cabinet part is part is angled from 5 to 8 inches at the base. The mirror in this part appears top be old, has scratches, blotchy, smoky look to it. The base that came with it is another story, it obviously is not the original base, it has more of an island appearance, shells engraved on the front, and, not pictured, on the sides is carved a tiki/idol type design. The stain/patina on both pieces match very closely as far as I can tell, I'm by far NO expert. Would love to know anything more about this cabinet if it looks familiar to anyone....
