    blunderbuss2
    (199 items)

This is from a good friend that said they came from his father's barn in PA & he wants to know what they are? He says they are wrought iron & 6 " in diameter.
We are good at this, so let's go! I have no idea what category these go in, but feel confident that staff will find a place.

    Unsolved Mystery

Are they just clevis? (Pl. clevi?)

    2. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
TA, I think that is the right direction. The rings are the wrong way though. I believe I have seen these in blacksmith shops as a kid, but never asked or knew what they were for. Maybe for wagon harness's?
I just came home from the emergency room when I posted this. Some "B" backed right out in front of my bike. Point is, I'm having trouble typing.
    3. TubeAmp TubeAmp, 9 years ago
Get well soon! Rum I.V. and some brownies ;) You won't feel a thing.

    4. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
TA, this is Sunday & I was just finishing my "Brownie Tour" . If not for that, I may have been going faster. PS: I quit rum in '91 on request from friends! LOL!!
I've seen these before, as said. Maybe for reigns to go thru on the traces to the harnesses.
    5. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago
It was used by one eye jack on his pirate ship they had a lot of big investor"s in PA...as well as many other pirates ...glad they threw u out of the emg. room ....lol
And as far as the 25 cc moped your too old for it ..lmao..oh ya back to the parts ,...part of the sail rigging for one eye jacks sail s ...?
    6. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Have my doubts Roy. There don't appear to have any skull & cross-bone stamps. Please don't make me laugh as even deep breathing hurts! I'll be back on my 25cc (actually 180) tomorrow & looking for revenge! It was a hit & run but there are company & police surveillance cameras all around the location. I noticed that when friends see me bandaged up & I tell them I had an accident on my bike, the 1st question is: "Is the bike OK?" or "you sure she's pregnant". LOL!! Ouch!!
    7. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
If these are 6" in dia., I am assuming they would fit around approx. a 5" haft /pole. If so, then the small rings must be for tying something to it. Maybe a sail or cover? "Me not know mon!" Com on guys. We can figure it out! A 5" pole is too big for a wagon.
    8. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago
Had a friend stop by today and for some reason Your island came up and he said his buddy has been going there for over 35 years ....gene spencer ..ring any bells...lol I said it a small island they could know each other ...??
    9. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
They seem to diminish in dia., so that indicates a pole that tapers & to me, maybe toward both ends. Doesn't ring a bell Roy, but it's a transient population & we rarely know full names, even of permanent ones. We don't hangout on beaches with tourists except the occasional "1 nite stands".
    10. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago
I looked under vintage sail rigging came up with zip ...now I leaning toured show tents or something along that line ..Ya well I thought them being from NH might of stuck out when they would say... yup .I know for sure after going there 35 years they ate at the locals dinners and bars...and Knew all the hot spots ....anyways. told my friend I would kick it out there...lol stay out of the hospital are ...????
    11. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago
Should read ..Staying out of the hospital are we ...dam cat always wanting to lay on my key board while I'm playing...lmao

I was going to ask some of my wharf-rat friends if they knew this evening (which starts @ 4:PM) if they recognized them, but none @ the 1st stop & forgot about it by the 2nd stop. LOL! You may be on to something Roy with the tent thing. Stakes with a "U" at the top these were held by & ropes tied thru the rings. Sadly, we have no carnie people here (officially) to ask. Your friend can call me locally @ 554-2447 when he visits next. Just tell him to bring twice as much money as he would usually spend & to look for trap-doors under bars I take him to. LOL!!! Back on the bike today & the cops are ck'ing videos for the hit-&-run driver's tag #. Left me bleeding & possibly dying and drove off (with her lights still off). Good news is, my lft. leg doesn't hurt. I know staff, "not fb".

Roy, every time I see your name associated with any of my posts, I open it with a lot of apprehension! This one failed to load, so I have yet to know what kind of "letter-bomb" is included. LOL!! Hope things are well with you & you are taking your medications (as prescribed). LOL!! Have this KY friend who was a sniper with 106 confirmed kills coming to visit & wondering if I should mention that to this Dutch girl? Probably not, eh!
    15. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Hey, got it to play! Had a lot of of friends get high with a little help from me! Of course you know I'm just joking! Hey, it was the times! I saw 1 girl I lived with later (maybe another). Days gone by & just memories now, & didn't seem to really change things after the war (Sorry: Police Action). Thanks Roy! Never thought I would say that!! LOL!! But, this is not fb (the CIA site).
    16. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago
u mean NSA site ....lol my buddy was headed to Woodstock and I was on a bus to headed to PI...lol
    17. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
If you were going to PI, Roy, that means you were a jug-head volunteer. Right? Hope you have gotten smarter since!

    21. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago

    22. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
I agree Roy. Hope you were never put in a position to give orders!
    23. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago

Roy, I think that last presentation may be the best you have ever contributed (If not the only) . I have copies of Will's from my ancestors going back to the 1700's that leave things, by name, to slaves, & -- don't even mention their wife's name. This is not fb, but if you would like to see these, you know where my address is. Might be interesting correspondence & I'm curious if that is possible with you? LOL! Thanks for a good contribution. Hope others read it.
    34. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Roy, I got a complete failure of deliver on the address you gave. Try sending a note on my address given in my profile.

Roy, my friend's are closed too much for that purpose. Now maybe for attaching shackle chains to a secured rail.
    40. Roycroftbooksfromme1, 9 years ago
well they could be new old and can be made to be open up or used on children ...just a though
    41. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago

    43. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago

Popo Marlin or something is a Slave trading currency sort off! Some years ago in Swansea, South Wales, UK. Friends of mine were walking along the river Tawe and one found something similar to what you have. Nobody knew what it was not even our Museum, turns out to be a Brass thingy that was made in Swansea, Shipped to Bristol and exchanged for slaves.
    46. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 9 years ago
Thanks GeodeJem. That's a new one for me, but I passed it on to my friend to ck-out since he is much better on these "tings" than this misplaced Rebel.

No plumbers around? The ones in your post are a handful of old pipe clamps/clips.

That's not it Gilligan. Ostrich hobbles ? Must be later than I thought ! LOL !!
    49. Gillian, 8 years ago
Better watch out for your own hobbles bb. Call me Gilligan again, and well, you know..............hobbles could be hurt.
    50. Gillian, 8 years ago
I know - ancient Olympic nose clips. I've given up on the hobbles because I'm not sure if you are using it as a verb or a noun.

hi blunder my first instincts are olden day door knockers

      NICE KNOCKERS
    56. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 8 years ago
I like nice knockers. If the 2 eyelets faced each other, I might consider the idea, but I would also think shackles to hold a sail on a boom or mast. Just makes no sense to me to make something requiring 2 anchor points when for one would be just as easy. The direction of those eyelets eliminate most of our ideas to me.

Wickencrafts, they have the right configuration except except they are open enough to fit around a horse's ankles. All of a sudden, we have this rash of ideas !

Rusty gas pumps, oil cans that probably contain hazardous waste, ancient motor cycles piled on top of each other, Sieber adjustable hand punch, oil funnel cans, vintage windshield wipers - and you've never seen a pipe clip or clamp. Now we've sunk to new depths with latex cat suits with handcuffs. I despair.
