A pair of vintage Camel tire repair kits.
The taller is Tubeless Tire Plug Repair Kit and I believe it is complete. Circa 1960s.
The smaller is an empty box of Vulcanizing Patches. It originally came with 10 patches. I used something like that for my bike tires in the long long ago. The lid is used to roughen the tube before applying the patch. Circa 1940s but I am not sure about that.
OK the big question has to do with Camel Cigarettes. This has nothing to do with Camel Cigarettes and is made by a completely different company.
The next big question is how did they get away with using the Camel artwork.
The answer is that the camel is facing the opposite direction.
I have a similar Camel patch kit & always thought it was a promotional ad by the
Camel Cigarette Co.
Besides the different position of the camel,
I see that the patch kit was manufactured by
H.B. Egan Co.
Muskogee, Okla. and in Toronto, Canada
Thank you very much Sundance. I think there are some other differences too which I will look up later.
