(100 items)
I'll put some more pictures up soon but here are some of my old series that I had posted before removing last year.
I believe this to be Meissen, Meissen didnt bother to look it up when I sent it to them... I don't think there is another German Potter who could have made this item from probably or perhaps I'm being unkind to Dresden potters...
So other option - Minton British....
Period, prior to Makers Markers, 1820-1875?
A beautiful repair with stud metal pin helps with age....
Found in a British Auction house, they are mine and I love them.I'll do other photos soon:)
Beautiful -- You have a base pic too!! Good FIND !!
These are Gorgeous !!!
these are two pieces Sean... I'll take some more pics to include base on the weekend... :)
Cant wait to see!!!
Coalport ..... They're BEAUTIFUL !!!!!
Coalport ???? sorry !!!!!
We don't think so Kev as Coalport tended to do the deeper blues... and not much reticulated work....
antiquerose these are two items not one. Two comports with varying base sizes....
Gorgeous.
There's this one on Pinterest they reckon is Minton:

Great find Kevin but no cigar I'm afraid....in my opinion.....it's an amazing fake but they did so many back then and the faker says 1890...even that he/she got wrong....if it were Minton
ok first things first. Where's the Minto logo. If they think it is, post with makers mark...And yes, mine doenst have one which believe it or not makes it more likely to be real because of time I have denoted. They rarely put makers marks back in 1925....
The one in the picture I have no doubt is a fake. As the owner of an 1800's piece of China made in Germany or the UK, more likely the former, you just know that these pieces could only have been produced by two factories. Meissen or Minton. It's the depth in several areas and when I'm not so tired I will write it up because there are two different plates being attributed to two different houses. If I had this one given to me, the one you've kindly sent me, I'd smash it to bits...so what will I tackle first, why it's a fake, probably best?
I also ran the translation through the page, pretty useless, so I'll have to keep that up too :)
1) the porcelain or pottery theyve used is grey in the fake
2) the glaze is the wrong texture for a good quality glaze
3) the flowers which are transfer print in the four windows, every single one of them is different to mine. Acceptable but they have too much liberal manner in them, like droplets? not in Victorian flowers....
Forgetting for a moment the quality of photo as the blue is different in their light, you can still see the blue is very different. The gold quality is different...this is common where they choose not to fake with real paints, source from the time. A lot of good fakers do....
Wouldnt you just love to have seen how they would have faked the larger comport?.....
And finally. The item's in China. Need I say any more????
For me, I'm lucky, I've got the item in front of me....I know it initimately and can speak to it till the cows come home :)
Thanks again Kevin....
An after thought, if I am wrong then I apologise. I'm a rather different collector than some of the Collectors you get. If proven I always bow to those with good evidence...'
Cheers Anne
I'm no expert Anne and I value your expertise on these matters. The colours on yours are much more vibrant. But someone (in Japan) was prepared to fork out ¥70000 for it ... that's about US$520 or AUD820 for it! Even for a fake that's good money for a plate. LOL.
You have some really nice "stuff' , directly up my alley ! SWEET !!!!!!!!!!! My response to your comments , my site ! Nice to meet you !
