My late Uncle brought this item back from Germany when he returned from WWII. It's obviously not German - I'm thinking that it could be Turkish. There is some inscription on the blade in writing but I can't read it. Can anyone help. trogo@telegraphy.com Thanks.
This is a folding knife of Mediterranean origin - probably Italian or Spanish; possibly French. The language of the inscription will tell you. You don't give a size. These knives, when folded, can be from 3 inches to 2 feet long. The popular English name for them is "navaja" which just means "knife". On small ones the inscription is often romantic; "I love you" on some such. On larger ones it is threatening, like "May my wound be fatal" or "Death to my enemies". Age can be any time from late 18th C to early-mid 20th C.
