This appears to be an earlier and larger studio piece by the mysterious artists Wishon-Harrell. They worked in Muncie, Indiana and then moved to San Diego, where one of them died in the early 90s. This is a very beautiful vase - 10 inches tall. I found it at Goodwill for just a few dollars.
does anyone have info on Wishon-Harrell? i'm particularly interested in when they began and when they used what kind of labels.
i've been able to find some more info on Wishon-Harrell. apparently they worked together from the 1950s thru 1993, when one of them died. pieces like this one continue to sell for a pretty good price, and are really sought after. their later stuff is not so great, but their midcentury pieces are the best.
I know it was a while ago when this was posted, but I'm fairly new here.
This is a very nice Wishon-Harrell piece that dates from the early 1970s. They were located in Southern California at that time.
I have recently posted a little more information about Wishon-Harrell.
Thank you Artfoot! I look fwd to reading your piece about the mysterious wishon-harrel couple! They did some beautiful work!
