This book is in very rough condition; suspect it's obvious it is from 1852, just wondering if anyone knows anything about it - not familiar with French unfortunately, all I could find was that it was written by a French Priest? Is that correct and does anyone know anything about it?
Have you read this ?

It's a Selection of Songs .... with religious import.
Songs for the major feast days of the year and for various religious sacraments and events.
Thank you Thank you Thank you! I had not know about the website, Church Music Assoc. of America, this will be so helpful as we have tons of very dated sheet music and hymnals! Can't wait to start researching, thanks again! And thank you both, (blunderbuss2) for the loves. Do you know if there are any websites to identify dated religious statues/figurines and other Catholic items? We have many that are quite old.
I'm not aware of any Catholic sites as such. But surely dated pieces would be fairly easily researched online ???
Yes, I haven't started the religious items yet; we have tons of things to research, we have only just begun this journey in the last few months. Suffice it to say, we are welcoming any advice and shortcuts. Thanks again, I know I had previously called myself a "rookie", but that may be giving myself too much credit LOL.
Thanks to blunderbuss2, vetraio50, roycroftbooksfromme1, and sean68 for looking and loving.
The R.P. before the Author's name means "Reverend Pere" (father). By all means you can upload some of your religious items here at CW and we'll try to help you. vetraio50 is very knowledgeable in all things "francais" and of religion. BOB
Thank you so much Loumanal; you and other members on this site have been such a tremendous help. I try to review all the posts daily, it's like a living encyclopedia on here - a wonderful experience! I have been remiss in posting some of our things, I have to get back on track!
Wow rucklczglass, you are most welcome and thank you for sharing your story! My grandparents were both born in the 1880's, and both were very involved in the Catholic Church; we have found lots of sheet music and hymnals - late 1800's and early 1900's. Will be adding more of our treasures to CW soon!
