I would say its Japanese due to the shape and the decorations but I have seen others listed as Chinese but i still feel its Japanese pre 1900 time frame.

Hi Thanks so much for your reply... narrowing it down is helpful for me, I adore Asian items but am such a novice at it but learning is a step process. Thanks again

You are right it is a step process I am still learning. I have collected for a while now mainly Japanese and some Chinese pottery. Oriental item can cover a wide range of things that you could collect. I would suggest getting some books on what you are interested in to help id items and going to auctions or sales physically handling a Item is helpful in learning about the items.

Thank You I will take your advice I totally agree. I am trying to get a start the pictures listed are items I have tried to find out about there ia a great coop near me for vintage items and have a great amount of books on many subjects antiques but I have not found any info that really helps me with these items I have listed. I hoped this site would be a source of more specialized people that can point me in a right direction and then start a search specific on the item. Thanks Pat
