    Can anyone identify this tool? I found it in a kitchen drawer. The top is a heavy metal, could be aluminum. The metal top with wood handle measures 4-3/4"

      Somebody took a scrap piece of extruded aluminum, stuck a piece of wood into it for a handle, and said, "Voila', I have invented the trivet."
