Bronze Desktop Lamp

Hi all, while at my daughters I thought I'd snap a photo of this lamp her dad purchased for here before he passed. The shade was put on backwards after the previous owner tried unsuccessfully to rewire it. So, I eventually got it put back together the correct way, thanks to an old friend ;)

I'm really a bit confused about the whole thing though. I believe it's bronze due to the weight and it's color and the shade seems a bit odd to be with a reading mouse. It's an oddity to me for sure and I'm wondering if this was a familiar lamp to anyone or did someone put it together as it is??? What period do you suppose this is. Would love to know.

Regardless, my daughter loves it mainly because it was from her dad plus she's an avid book reader.

It's still debatable to me ;)
