Lamp shades bought years ago from woman from Italy. She said they had been in her family for years. Old glass as you can see from imperfections. What are they, how were they made, age?

      Hi,
I mean no offence, but the photos do no service to your lamps at all. You've placed the items on a lacy cloth which looks like it's draped over a chair. I can't make out if there are patterns on the glass or not, as all I can see are reflections of the lace.

If you could take some pictures with a plain background, maybe one laying down, that might help. Also lighten (no pun intended) up the pictures.

They appear to be oil lamp shades(?). They look well made. But.....please can you eliminate the fussy-lacy background so the glass can be seen?'
The CW articles - http://www.collectorsweekly.com/lamps/oil - can give you lots of inormation; there's an article on shades as well. And resources for other sites at the bottom on the side of the page.
