Its my best piece but after a lot of online research I'm totally at a loss to it's maker , have tryed Stubbs ,Ridgway , and davenport but have come to a blank as i have no defining marks on it .
I obtained it in 1969 in a collectors shop in Holt norfolk.
Hoping some one out there can identify it for me,
    Thank you for looking
    Trevor.

"Thank you Tigerchips, it was very useful and has sent me on the right path but unable to find this particular transfer as the same as mine "totally" THANKS AGAIN " Trevor.

I'm not particular good with identifying patterns myself, but if it has a pottery mark, some of the members here might be able to recognise it. I have a few books on pottery marks, but just pocket ones.

Thank you again Tigerchips , I myself can Identify most things if I have a mark to go on as I have a passion for any research and a shelf full of books , but with no marks to go on I am at a lose, and regrettably all my unidentified pieces are all without markings.

The pattern is one of 17 patterns in this series of Italian Scenery. It is numbered #09 in the Transferware Collectors database and the platter measures 16.75 by 13 inches. All the various center patterns of the 17 known share the same floral border. The pattern is by J. Meir & Son, 1837-1897, Tunstall, Staffordshire.

      A BIG Thank you Kivatinitz,
your information has ,added to Tigerchips and my research put the Platter back on my shelf with the knowledge of its origin placed firmly on the back.
THANK YOU ALL for your response.
Trevor. ....... am just about to piture my oldest blue and white gravy boat again no marks that i have found but its shap and crude hand painted decoration will most properly give its identity away to all you experts around the world.
