Looking to identify and value this painting There is no artist name on the front of back. On the frame on the back in pen is written (guessing) "bohanai". This was written well after the painting was created. The word in my family is that is rare and European, from when my father came from Holland. Attached is the front, canvas sides and back.
Appreciate the knowledge and help if possible.

can you straighten those photos out? are the nails square or round?
Nails are round. I rotated and cropped the image. I didnt want to adjust the colors- this is pretty much what it looks like. Thanks.
With the clothes and hat ... I'd say it's a self portrait.
A selfie !!!
It doesn't look right? One: there are staples holding it onto wood stretchers. NO sign of nails ever being used to secure paintings. Two: The Writing on frame is Newer looking, style shows its more recent. The staining on back is not typical, seems to be stained with coffee or tea to make it look older than it is. With staples being used on canvases this would have to be done after 1955 or so.
Look at the front and back of the piece.
Examine the patina of the piece itself: dirt and dust of the ages, texture, the brightness of colors, or lack thereof.
Study the canvas, do a thread count, modern or old?
Is there some patina on the back surface of the canvas?
Look for anachronisms. If the canvas is stapled on the back of a 1800's piece of art, something is wrong.
