Solid oak, City of Detroit US Post Office mail sorter box. Has original metal serial number tag affixed. Ten slots, each slot has hand stenciled lettering for a different local company, including United Motors, General Motors, Burroughs, Wrigleys, Nixies, Frigidaire and others. Approx. 80 inches tall, 20 inches wide and 30 inches deep. My best estimate is it was created around 1920. Bought it in a barn sale in 1979.
