Found this puller buried in the dirt on old farm estate i cleaned out years ago in front of old school bus with wooden floor that was sinking into the ground. Has some writing on side but very hard to make out. Very curious as to application and why swastika would be molded in cast. Approximately 8" x 3 1/2".
A swastika is a very old symbol - more than 12,000 years old. Hitler just vilified it. In the case of this item, I would think the swastika simply means good luck. See if you can make out any of the writing on it. Try cleaning out the letters with a toothpick and see if that helps any.
From at least 1909 (or earlier) to 1922 The Buffum Tool Company was known all over the country for its top grade workmanship and the quality in the tools they made. His logo was the Good Luck/Blessing/Swastika Cross. Many of his advertisements for his tools contained the slogan “Buffum Tool Company, High Grade Tools For High Grade Workmen, Louisiana, Mo.” Frank was very proud of his workmanship, his product, his town, his state and his country. He clearly showed that in displaying his name, his town and state on every ad he sent out and every item he sent out.

The very word swastika comes from India & not Germanic. Oldest symbol known.
Thank you all so very much! ! I knew the swastika dated back before hitler but i had never seen anything similar to this with one molded in cast iron and i have been collecting cast iron for years. Whether tools, toys, stove parts and or ect. It has been on shelf for years now always going back to it from time to time. Thank you All!
Ooh, Manikin is a clever old soul!

The swastika was used on many early Scout badges as well until the Nazi's seized it. Even later German "Scouts" used it until '45! LMAO!!! Because of it's long historical (Pre-hysterical) use, I feel it a shame that it seems to be villainized because of a short-lived era/error. Enough time has passed now, where I think many people are reacting to brainwashing etc.. It's ancient use seems to be overshadowed.
