New arrival-- I love these 19th century object photographs.

The photo depicts an Ithaca Calendar Co. Clock. The cabinet card style is typical of the 1890s, so I suspect the clock is from that era as well (or slightly earlier).

Online searches shows the same model sold online and identified as a "Farmers No. 10".

No photographers information on the image.

This cabinet card would look great displayed next to the original clocks!

      Hi Scott,

Another very interesting posting. I haven't expanded our collection into Calendar Clocks yet. Not sure I could find the room if we do but I hope to some day. You're right, this kind of promotional printed material would really look nice next to a displayed model...especially if the model was kept in running order. It would speak to the quality that the ICCC offered. Ithaca specialized in Complex Perpetual calendars. They did not offer any Simple Calendar Clocks.

      Here's a very informative website link: http://ithacacalendarclock.com/

The Company offer the No. 10 Farmer's as early as circa 1874. That model was much simpler than the model you showcase which was reportedly from as early as circa 1880. It originally listed for $12 and was offered with an alarm for $13. Adjusted for inflation that would be about $219 to $315 in 2014. While certainly not an insignificant amount of money, the No. 10 Farmer's was one of their relatively inexpensive models. It was a very nice clock for the price.

      Best regards,

      Bruce

Correction, that should read approximately $290 to $315 in 2014 dollars.
