Hello,
This is my latest find in Antique store down 'South'
The scene is a fishing boat in the dock, with small village behind.
Canvas is 12" x 24"
Signed by Reynolds, the whole painting is in good condition. Just a little dusty.
I would appreciate any information the group may have on this style & perhaps the signature.
A very good source who is an artist herself told me she felt it was 'wall art'.
I am checking with this group for a little more exposure & also to show the painting.
I like it & hope you all like it too & also can provide an opinion as to who'Reynolds' may be!
Love the group!

Thanks for the 'love' blunderbuss2

Reynolds is a Vanguard Painting. Basically Sofa art sold cheap back in 70's.
Burr never set out to be part of the contemporary fine art movement. His product was decorative art: pieces that would look nice over couches in middle-class homes, with an actual artist’s signature (usually “Lee Reynolds” or simply “Reynolds”) to make them seem more exclusive and genuine.
Thanks Dizzydave!
How did you know that? Reason asking is I would like to learn.
Thanks,
Herbgrower
I have been collecting Art for 25 yrs now. I had over 500 pieces at one time hanging in My Victorian Home. Reynolds is well known Vanguard Art. He allows others to paint these and then lets them put His name on it. So Reynolds did not paint these but Hired Starving Artist did. I can still find them locally at Garage Sale, Thrift Store for under 20.00. Look up Vanguard Art on Google and you will find a lot of info. Thanks
