Hi All
Well this is something that was found recently and I am struggling with, well everything about it really! It's a small bowl with some oriental type decoration. The base shows marks that I assume means it was made on a potters wheel. The lines around the base are not completely even which leads me to believe that they were applied by hand. Date, no idea. There is some crazing to the glazing so some age at least. There is a mark present near the base but I have no idea what it is or represents. So my questions are, do you know a rough age? Do you know country of origin, either from the mark or type of decoration/style etc? Is it a European piece copying far eastern?
Anything you can tell me would be great, as I have nothing!
Thanks.
What a pretty bowl. :) My guess would be contemporary, but beyond that, sorry I don't have the expertise in Asian wares. I hope someone here can help. Good luck! :)
Thank you. It is nice, I just don't know enough about pottery to even guess where it is from or when. Hopefully someone with a little knowledge can throw something into the mix. I can't even work out if the mark is a language or a symbol!
