This is I think a Gladys and Charles Mumford Silver Moss Agate ring. They have a very distinctive style with their leaves against shaped scrolls and twisted wire. I love their work, I was very lucky with this ring I was there at the right place at the right time.
Gladys and Charles work is Art and Crafts, they worked in the 50s and 60s. I think this ring was made in the 1950s, because in their later item, that I have seen, at the back of their brooches, rings, the stone have a twisted wire coil around the base of the stone. All their work with stones have that teeth design setting. I have spent ages trying to find some of their pieces it's difficult to find. I've been lucky to find this ring and the brooch which I know is their work. I have put a photo of this ring and the brooch together I would love to hear if you think the same. They like Bernard Instone and many others did not mark their work or very rarely.
This is a small write up on them.
Gladys and Charles Mumford who made pieces in the Art and Craft tradition and retailed through their premises in Falmouth, Cornwall until 1963. Originally from Sratford-Up-Avon, they had a holiday and fell in love with the town, they decided to move there permanently. It is reputed that Gladys was the more accomplished Silversmith of the two.
    Many thanks for looking
