Another Glady and Charles Mumford piece. I think this brooch was made in the 60s I'm not certain, that's for sure, but it does have a coiled wire on the bottom of the stone at the back, which I haven't seen in their earlier pieces. Same as the ring a very distinctive leave and scrolls and coiled wire design. The design is very simple but effective you can tell there work almost anywhere.
Here is a little piece about them, there is precious little information about their life that I have found.
Gladys and Charles Mumford had their workshop and retail outlet in Falmouth, Cornwall. They had previously started their careers as Silversmiths to Winifred King & Co in Coventry. They moved to Falmouth were they also sold their Jewellery on board QE 11 (Queen Elizabeth second). The work of Gladys and Charles Mumford was rarely if ever marked.
