This silver locket has a front made a dog's head of Vulcanite (at least that is my idea) . I got it in my possession because I found it so special and cute. Unfortunately, the glass out of the door missing but maybe I can get another one. The closure works fine. I have the Vulcanite dog's cleaned and then coated with vegetable oil therefore it gleams a little.
There are two hallmarks. I think I see the French boar's head. To date correct can anyone confirm?
I there anybody who have seen a Dog cameo in Vulcanite??

Super pendant Marga! Dog beeing symbol of fidelity, it is very touching.
You're right for the boar's head, for the period of making, I would say 1850', but could be up to 1880.
Hi, I was thinking that you may be able to identify the piece I found, it is not bakelite, it is some sort of reptile skin wrapped around shell, it was found in Maine, dug from ground...Thank You
mrcolorz thanks for your comment. I already identify the piece as Vulcanite as you could read in description but i wanted to be sure. It's definitively Vulcanite but i never saw a dog cameo in this materal. Anyway thanks for your contrbution.
