I came across this piece in a "Goodwill" store. I had never seen a similar pot or dish, and I have tried to find out exactly what it is, and how old it is. It is glass that has an amber tint to it. If you fill it with water, the tint is gone, and it looks as if it is simply clear glass. The handles look like the pieces made in England. It is 8-3/4" in diameter, 10-3/8" across the handles and 4-3/4" high. It has a 3 quart capacity. It has a PYREX print logo of block letters inside a single line oblong circle. Under this, you can barely make out the word CORNING. Under this by approximately 1-2 inches, it has the imprint 19 C.
It did not have the lid, but a G-1-C lid fits it perfectly.
Can anyone give me any information on this rare (?) item.
Thanks.
