    This is one of the earliest electric steam irons. The first version of this was made in 1938 so 1940 is a close estimate. Unlike the steam irons currently made this was filled with water and it would all heat up like a tea kettle. Current irons just heat up a few drops at a time. It took a long time to heat up the water and took some effort to use.
    This saw designed by C. Brooks Stevens and made by Waverly Tool Co.
