This was from my father in law's bar The Club Algiers (not sure if I'm spelling it correctly) on Mission Street in San Francisco from back in the 1970's. There were 12 of them under black lights. When he sold the bar he gave them away but kept 2, 1 getting wrecked.
This is 18 1/2 X 31 1/2 and the black velvet looks like it's starting to brown or lighten weird. If you zoom in on the painting it's no longer a smooth solid full paint, almost looks like dots real close together.
It's signed and if you zoom in on the picture the signature is all there but I can't make it out.
I just want to know who the artist was.
Thanks,
Welcome to CW:)
hmmmmm reminds me of my first grade teacher....lol
Hi there,
I am actually looking to locate the owner of the Club Algiers or the Algiers Tavern. Not John Porter but I am looking for Stanley Pandolfi or possibly Frank Valentino. These guys would be in their 80's now, but I have a dire need to speak to them. Please if you can contact me at MelindaButtle at Gmail (melindabuttle@gmail.com). It's regarding a man named Andy Lara.
Thank you so much!
Ummmmm - Perky.....LOL
Thought it was a coat rack :)
