I think I scored on this piece.... I know for sure its old, it was all dusty and the people who sold it to me had high-quality Chinese items that they didn't know much about, but they needed money so they were selling them.
I got a *great* deal on the jade and this great porelain plaque with carved wooden stand. Its a pretty good one, as far as value is concerned
I'd really like Dave to take a look at the jade though, since he's the jade expert around here. Are you out there Dave?

Thanks Mike, lets hope we're right. Gonna take it to my jade guy tomorrow and get his evaluation, but I can already pretty much tell its probably quite valuable

Look at the carving, it's high quality for sure. This style sometime resembles 'Hawk and Bear', in Chinese sounds like Champion.
looking for Chinese Champion vase in auction history from Sotheby, you could find heaps.
