    I have no idea what year this is. Was found under a porch, without a lid. My ex husband made a wood top for it that will flip up for storage, is used as more counter space in my kitchen. He also put a clear coat of something on it to bring out the colors and stop the rust. I think its beautiful like this. How would I go about finding out what year this is?

      Looks to be a Westinghouse Standard, made from 1935-45. Many of these still exist in restored shape or weathered overtime. They became obsolete after electric coolers/vending machines came into play.

      There might be a raised manufacturer's date code on the surface of the inner cooler. Will help identify year and maker. Cavalier Cooler Co. was another outfit that made these.

      Thank you Daddy_Nobucks! According to the stamp on the inside W-UIR it would be Westinghouse July 1941
