This lidded bowl is from the Victorian period. The rims reveal three layers, clear, white stripes and an amber outer. The knobbly finial and leaf shaped feet, here in pink, are more commonly found in clear glass on several known Welz décors. I have examples myself.
The vase in picture four has been posted before but in comparison you may see a slight colour difference. The vase rim reveals three layers, amber, white stripes and a pink outer. It too has a pink foot in a style to be seen on a pair of Welz Thorn vases that I have posted here.
Now I need to find this four dimpled shaped vase with foot in a different known Welz décor to confirm my suspicion!
sklo, this is so beautiful - like a jewel in these colors. And your photographs are terrific, too!
love it!!!
Thank you, Michelle, as much for the photography encouragement as for your appreciation of the bowl!
