Hi all,
A lovely little "Tadpole" vase 5" tall and fairly heavy for its size.
Sadly it's Very 'nibbled' around the rim.
It has a ribbed body of satin like iridescent glass (is this known as glat?) with two green, also iridescent, "tadpoles" which glow slightly under UV light.
I've not been able to find a vase exactly the same but it's very similar to other Kralik tadpole vases, although I've noticed the tadpoles are facing the other way to usual.
Thank you to everyone for the nice comments and ID
Love the piece!!
It is indeed a beauty, Fran, such a lovely shape!
Nice to see you Fran, and what a lovely vase to share! (I just love glass 'tadpoles') :)
This shape and decor is usually associated with Kralik.
A local collector I know had a similar piece with nibbles - he had a silver collar applied to the ground top. Not sure of the costs.
Love, love it. It has character and has survived (on most part of the few nibbles ) - That alone is Amazing. Beautiful Piece !!! Love it!!
Thank you for the lovely comments everyone. I thought it was most likely by Kralik. Mac63 nice idea about adding a collar but agree it'd cost a bomb, & way more than the vase. I'll simply turn it to it's best side and live with it :)
Lovely!
Thank you Shawn186. I still love this one too. Its shape, the subtly ribbed, satin finish, mmm lovely.
