Several years ago found this on a thrift trip . I haven't more pictures of it because I gave it to my Mother as a gift . It is framed and about 6 inch wide and 8 1/ 2 long , picture made from small pearls (believe real , they are gritty when rubbed on teeth ) and in multiple shades (pink , cream , white , grays ) and glued onto cardboard . I have no knowledge of origin or maker . Have never seen another like it .
Hi fellow Collectors ,
It has been a bit since I posted this item for some clarification . Was hoping someone could tell me what the script says on the bottom of the cardboard frame and if anyone was familiar with the artwork itself ? It is marked for 1998 , I think made of natural pearls not plastic beads . TIA
The first character after 98 is 'China' and the next probably reads 'Made' or 'Make' but is not in the usual form for that.
you should keep this it says: marking the first China pearl festival
Thank You for the information on the calligraphy writing wexval & fleafinder , I am Greatful to know what it says !!
fleafinder I gifted the Pearl Panda's Picture to my Mother , she loves Pearls & Opals ; the mixture of different colored and sized pearls making the image is just wonderful and so well done . It was gifted as a birthday gift to her and she just loves it ; she doesn't think the pearls are real but with the information you've shared I believe they for sure are natural pearls . Thanks again !!
Youre so sweet to your mum!:))) Bet she loves this gift to bits!
