Is there a signature somewhere in the print for the sake of comparing both?
Hi!? One signature is in left hand corner and other is in right hand corner, on bottom.
Well I meant the name that is in the lower left hand corner, is that signature anywhere within the print?
Sorry, I am not understanding. The names are on bottom of print, I do not see them any other place on the print. Unusual to have two names on one print!
Let me see if I can make myself clearer, sorry. Presumably this is a print of an original. The original would have had the artist's signature somewhere on there. Then when this print was made, looks like the artist signed the print. So what I'm asking is, where is the original signature within the print, in order to compare it with the signature below the print?
Prints are different size than originals. I have about 30 different prints, none have signature on them, only below. They are not photos.
?? ( guessing here )
~ L. Maurice
~ L. Meurice
other word ....Oriel ??
~ Could one *signed signature* be the name of the PLACE where this was, and the *other signature* the ARTIST -- but not sure which could be which ??
I would think the name by the print numbers is the Artist?!
Okay, I think I finally get what you meant, and sorry because I'm no expert on fine art. You mean to say that this is an original print, with the artist signature below. What I was thinking was that this was a print reproduction. Sorry for the mix-up.
If a company makes a print for an artist, he signs an artist proof on bottom and gives ok for say 100 prints and signs on bottom 1/100 to 99/100., I beliebve
Yes, but if it's a print of a work already in existence, then the signature should appear somewhere within the print, and the artist would sign the print below that signature.
If the artist makes a print of his work he would not include sig. on the work only below.
Hope you're well dear
