    Here is one of the other documents I have, as mentioned before. The only reason I thought it was written in Latin was the word 'Opus', which appears a few times in the pages. But other than that very dubious link, I have no idea.

    It is 7 pages long, and very large pages at that. 26cm wide, 33 high. The writing is beautifully done but very difficult to decipher. There does appear to be a title for the document on the reverse (picture 2). The only other notable feature is that the pages are held together by what appears to be some folded paper made into a form of string, and tied in a knot at the rear (picture 3).

    A genuine mystery.

      or a Latin scholar WITH 'Paleographic skills'.

      I'll take a punt and say it is Latin too.

      I think that will give you a general idea of the period.

      Thanks vetraio50. Does look very similar, which would date about 1630 - 1700ish. I know Latin was not used in English documents after 1733, so earlier than that. I have emailed some scholars so shall wait and see.
