Growing up my brother and I always wanted a swimming pool but our mom was a stay at home mom and always either took us to the beach or to one of our many aunts house that owned a swimming pool to cool off on hot summer days; not to mention, my dad worked long hours and I;m sure he didn't want to come home and take care of a swimming pool. Well one summer day at our childhood home, my brother (at the time was about 5 years old) was outside in our yard digging with his tractors. I recall asking him what he was doing as the hole was getting pretty big and I knew dad would not be happy..... My brother said he knew if he dug far enough down he would eventually hit water and we would have our own swimming pool. Walking away laughing at him I heard him yell that he just hit China. I ran over to see what was going on and he did hit something rather hard but it was not China. Together we keep digging to find this hidden treasure forgetting about the swimming pool. We ended up finding 2 cars along with many old glass bottles and old broken pots. Needless to say we no longer wanted that swimming pool. We showed mom the cars and she was so excited as mom collected antiques. She cleaned them off as best she could and put them out for display. Mom had these cars for more than 25 years. Mom now has passed on and now have 2 cars that I think are from the 1920's. I know nothing about the cars except where and how we found them. I have posted pictures of one of the cars showing the front, back, side and underneath. These cars are in the original state in which we found them the wheels/tires do roll. Anything you can tell me about the car I posted would be great. Thanks!
BTW, I never miss a show and I know if my mom was here today she wouldn't either!
Recently found a cast iron car like the one above at a garage sale. It is in excellent shape. It is red in color. Not sure if it has been repainted or not. No markings on it. Would like to know something about it if possible.
Show? what show?
Great Story!
Cool old cars..... definitely keepers!!
