This bowl was a purchase here in Sydney and had me stumped for a long time. The label Majolican was new to me, and I had no idea which company had used this name.

The bowl itself is nice: great colours and well made, so I thought it may have been one of the bigger glass companies.

Fortuitously (love that word) I saw some glass with the same sticker whilst trolling Japanese sale sites and they came in a box! The box had a name!
    The name was....Ishizuka Glass.

I know that name. Ishizuka are a huge corporation and they have many company branches, including the large Narumi Group (think Sanyu Narumi), Aderia Glass, and Hokuyu Glass, along with their many other plastic, metal, and glass manufacturing businesses.

So now my choice really has come back to this being made by either Hokuyu or Sanyu.
Could be either really although that twangy bit behind my eyes says Sanyu.
    Hardly an evidence based attribution!

By the way, I love the Japanese naming imagination. Majolican; that could almost be Italian.
    You think?
