I beliebe this to be a very very rare art nouveau "vase"... it has been designed by Otto Vittali (1872-1959) around 1910 to 1915 i believe... Vittali was a painter and craftsman, studied at the academie in Karlsruhe and in Munich under Professor Linnemann...
Around 1910, Vittali introduced "new" glasses and faience with metallic finishes after he founded his "Vitra-Gesellschaft zur Herstellung künstlerischer Gläser und Fayencen mit Metalldekoren" in Berlin...
I don't know how rare it is but i can't find this model searching the web....
Just beautiful. Could you translate the German please? Is the decoration black, or a maroon colour? Such an intricate design.
"Vitra-Gesellschaft zur Herstellung künstlerischer Gläser und Fayencen mit Metalldekoren" means "Vitra Company for manufacturing artist glass en fayence with metallic decorations" it is maroon not black...
