I have an old bookcase that looks pretty ratty. I was thinking about doing it up but once I got up close to it, I decided to hold off until I can find out a bit more about it in case I ruined it.

I am not sure where it came from, it has always been there - just hidden away & forgotten. It doesn't look like anyone has fixed it up recently, however I am not sure if the two-tone drawers were a lazy fix up or part of the original. The drawers also caught my eye because they don't seem to be nailed or glued.

I would really appreciate any info if you have seen anything like this before. And whether I should just leave it or make it look like new again.

    Thank you!

The drawer joinery doesn't even come close to being original.

Thanks so much fhrjr2. I really appreciate you letting me know as I really have no idea. I guess I can go ahead & fix it up now then :)
