I haven't found anything really great at Savers in a while so this caught my eye from the top shelf right off the bat. It stands a bit over 12" tall and the shape and decor scream Art Nouveau in style. While it's most likely a piece of Nippon it isn't marked as such (a tiny little "V" mark is all) so early 1890's seems like a good guess. Truth be told it isn't all that high quality. A gritty porcelain and the handle painting isn't all that attractive on the front. One is also broken in two pieces and glued with that horrible glue that turns yellow with age.. The flowers are lovely though and so is the shape. I hesitated but in the end I figured it's only a couple of dollars so that made up for the broken handle. It kind of grows on you the more you look at it. -Mike-
Thanks so much for all the info and the confirmation rucklczglass. I really do love this stuff too bad it's taken such a hit in value although that makes it very affordable now. I have Van Patten's ABC's of Nippon book and the prices are unbelievable compared to today, maybe someday it will come back again then I'll be rich...lol :)
nice..........
lol...oh I'm sure we could Ken :)
Mike, another lovely vase to add to your Nippon collection, not so many around here, or timing maybe was the real fact.
I love it.

Thanks Alan . :)
Don't feel too bad rucklczglass...Ken always teases me about my fantastic estate sale that will eventually happen. I just plan to be there or maybe have a pre-sale before I kick it...lol.
beautiful!!! love the handles and the color!!
Beautiful colors:)
I buy slightly imperfect pieces, too, because I like them so much that the bit of damage isn't important.
Thank you Sean, Trey, and Efesgirl for the "loves" and comments. :)
