    (100 items)

Quite some time ago I promised Elisabethan to post pictures of my (many!) candles holders, and I finally have the pictures after having dug up the candle holders from various drawers. Upon further inspection I notice that I seem to have three different types – one is definitely from Reijmyre Glasworks in Sweden (all the items in the first picture), one is probably Asian/Japanese (it is identical to one Elisabethan posted with a ‘Japan’ label), and the origins of the last one is unknown. It could be from Taiwan or even USA, as these types of holders were made in several places from the late 1930’s to the present day. I assume that Fenton could have made something like this - maybe some of the members of this forum know more?

On the last picture, you can see the bottom of the three types (click to enlarge). The one in the middle, with little ‘feet’ is from Reijmyre in Sweden (est. in 1810 and still in existence). They are named 'Pärlan' ('the bead'). One type has a smooth bottom and another concentric circles. They differ a little bit in height from 5.5 cm to 6.5 cm.

I have about 45 in total – most of them are cobalt blue, green or amber (I only have one light blue and one mauve as some colours are much more unusual than others). They certainly lighten up our long and dark winter evenings!

Wonderful post! Yes, I see "my" glass :). Still don't know the name on the label. Will post the label close up soon to see if we can get an answer.
