I obtained this lovely antique chair at an estate auction. I have no information on it but it has such a distinctive style I am surprised I have been unable to identify it! The runners are angled in so are more narrow at the back. It has been painted or waxed with green that is either original or so very old that it is completely worn off on arms and seat. The only decoration is the lovely carving on the back slat and curved arms with curl at ends. The legs are turned and fitted over the runner. It looks like it may be tiger oak underneath the green. It is very lovely and I would appreciate any help identifying it! (I had put the string across it to keep anyone from sitting in it!) Thanks!
