Well, here's a real conversation piece.
Off I went to my Sunday flea markets, and found this at my last stop. The group who runs that market always has excellent second hand jewelry. I have bought gold there, as well as silver, for pocket change. I saw this pendant in one of the display cases. I happened to be one of the first people to that table, as the market had only just opened. I executed my lightning fast "grab it now" technique before anyone else had a chance to see it (bah hahaha). There is no maker name on it and no Dutch hallmark, only a stamp of .835, so it was not made in the Netherlands.
The third photo is my silver haul for today.
Whatcha think about that pendant, CW friends?
Mummmm interesting, lol. Well I would think it is continental or even farther afield. I'm sure it's going to be a conversation piece.
Peasejean55 - and I have a very nice silver chain, bought in 1984, from which to hang it. :-)
Nice, lol.
stunning!!!!
Erotic? Must be something Freudian going on, cos its just a lump fancy metal to me!
It almost goes with my ring LOL!
I recently discovered brutalist jewelry. Some I find very ugly but some other pieces have a certain beauty to it. I am not sure if your piece falls into the category but I find it creative, interesting, and beautiful, mainy because of its free form. I hope this thought came out the right way.
Lol...I'm wondering where you learned the technique?!? You're adorable and too funny! And we know where your mind is always at, and with that I'm just going to shut my fingers down...Oh, I guess that could really be taken out of context too. I meant I was going to shut my mouth but you can't really "hear" me so...you get the picture, right? I would agree with the brutalist comment.
I guess I need to get a ladder and bring my mind back up to gutter level....it looks like a female anatomy part to me!! That is the very first thought I had when I spotted it in the display box at the flea market. Oh well, what can I say...
freiheit - I looked up brutalist jewelry, and I do understand the connection. I happen to like jewelry like that, as it turns out! Have seen that type before but never knew what it was called. I would be interested to see your ring!
shareurpassion - thank you for that great compliment! Shut your fingers down....lmao!!
Ha, Efe, my (oriented?) mind is in need of a ladder too...
I see same anatomical part ;-)
Love the "grab it now" technique as well as your last preys, lol.
Bravo!
Ladies, please! LOL :)
I see no such thing as what you're suggesting, ahem. :P Sorry, Bonnie, looks like word squiggles to me, or a snake about to swallow a baby bird. :/
HAHAHA!!! It nearly looks like a stingray, too.... lmao! I love strange jewelry items that leave their design up to one's imagination. :-)
Hum... Rather describe it as abstract :-)
Seems to have a Rohrschach's test effect...
kyra - I think that's the best explanation! It's all in the eye of the beholder. :-)
That's an interesting idea, kyratango! Yes, Bonnie, you can wear it and ask people what they see in the design! That should give you some insights! :)
Love it reminded me of one 3d pictures you stare cross eyed to see. With out your word erotic i might have missed this. Now whos mind is in the gutter.:)
LOL....My mind is always in the gutter, but that is not what I saw till ya point it out. I see what you mean...... it a Subliminal message maybe
~ I just thought it was a stylized hunk of metal when I first looked at it.
Hahaha I love the reactions! Thanks, everyone.
THANKS, everybody!!
