My daughter gave this Navy Flight helmet to me the other day reminding me that I had purchased it and several others several decades ago and she had recently found this with some other good stuff I had stored. I bought these flight helmets at a large War Surplus store in downtown Los Angeles in the late 60s and sold most of them on Hemming Motor News ads many years ago. I just have this and a couple of others as reminders of those olden days. I always preferred the brown Air Force helmets without the head gear holes and still have a couple of those too.

      Trey,
Actually it probably is. I doubt that it, nor any other of the leather helmets I bought had every actually been issued by the war dept before the war ended in 45? These certainly had not been worn as they show no signs of ever being on anyone's head.
      Thx for the love it

      Verretcheque,
Thx for the love it and comment. I still remember the day I found all these cool helmets and bought tha entire stock of them. The guy was astonished and I was thrilled to get them.
