Just purchased this at an estate sale! This is a folding top desk! It opens like a piano. Only one I can find similar say 1800-1899. Can anyone help me with information about it?

The nuts that attach the legs are square shaped, if that might help to date it!
I find no numbers or letters anywhere on it!

This is not a piano desk. It is called a
fall front desk. The name comes for a reason. I am sure you can research it to your satisfaction

No useful information, but I have one almost exactly like yours that was passed down through my family. Please comment back again if you found additional information about this desk.

fhrjr2 - it is not a drop front desk. The TOP lifts up, and the desk top slides out. No dropping front at all. Here's one similar:

It's called a Spinet Desk (after the Spinet Piano!)

Yes, I saw it called a flip-top writing desk, but see that it is called spindle too.
