I love brooches and lately I've opened my eyes to american vintage costume jewellry brooches. They are so much fun! This brooch is marked Sarah Cov and is made by Sarah Coventry. It´s an apple and I have found info online that sais it´s from the late 1960´s and other sources say 1970's. It´s about 3x3,5 cm and 1,5 cm thick. It's made of lucite and goldtone metall. Mine have the leaves more to the side than others I have seen so maybe they have been pushed aside a bit.
Does anyone have the accurate date of this brooch? Is it the 70's? Thankyou.
Real yummy candy color! Lovely :-)

Is this modell from 1970's?
Hi again, might have found the answer myself. Found an auktion add on ebay with the same modell. It said that the modell is called 'burgundy" in Coventry catalogs from 1972.
There you go, nothing like original source material to solve the question. I would have guessed 70s myself, as that is when jelly bellies were most popular, as I recall. It is a really gorgeous brooch, Elisabethan, love Sarah Coventry. :)
You've sure got lots of pretties posted! Love them all. I thought this was a ruby when I saw it! Happy new years to you!!!
I was wondering if it was considered a 'jelly belly'.
I just saw your posts Katherinescollection, thankyou!
Shareurpassion thankyou! Happy New year to you!
Celiene, I think so but I'm open to other ideas. This is what I've seen this called in other adds, as a jelly belly. I don't collect jelly bellys I just happen to have this and another brooch that I think are jelly bellys from what I've been able to read. I might be wrong.
Thanks for love everyone!
Thankyou nutsabotas, that might be right. But this brooch I have bought from a woman who used to live in USA and who sells vintage jewellry from there.
