I bought this today in a small thrift shop for $1.00. The mystery letters AV appear once again...I saw in the CW history that there is another brooch listed with these same marks. I checked the possible Italian connection and also looked at a website that lists makers of costume jewelry. Nothing. I looked at other jewelry listed on eBay with the same mark and there was no maker information listed. I did an Image search - bupkus.
Could what looks like a copyright mark actually be an "O"? Hmmm.
No matter. I will just enjoy this large ( 3" long) beautiful brooch and not be bothered about who made it.

This is an interesting brooch. Very Deco in style . Looks like Avon to me. :)
mikelv85 - I thought that when I first looked at it, so I checked it out. Avon never used that particular design logo. I used to sell Avon many, many moons ago! (1974).

I read that AV with the copyright is Avellino Italy, if the piece is silver? Beautiful brooch, Bonnie. :)
