This little footed bowl represents the most recent acquisition in my current obsession with pieces from the glass houses in and around the Haida area of Czechoslovakia (and I'm not finished yet - stay tuned!). The airbrushed rainbow lines and blue sky background with polished cuts at regular intervals are typical of the Adolf Rasche Haida glass refinery and export firm. The firm was founded in 1910, and cease operations in 1945, at the end of World War II. This bowl dates to about 1931. Similar pieces are documented in Das Böhmisches Glas, Band VI (PMC VI). For further reading, see PMC VI and "Glass 1880-1930 Novy Bor and the Surrounding Area".
