Here's one of my old trunks. This one is different from any that I've had with the gold tones and all cedar inside. Along with the baby clothes I've been looking for to donate to a local medical clinic ;)
The lock says "Long Lock" Made in U.S.A.
Is this trunk re-done to look like this or is it original? Honestly, I just find them, use them then at some point, sell them. That's what I do. Oh and I don't know if you can see it but on the inside left top, there is black there. Is that mold? On cedar? I didn't think cedar got moldy but I also haven't seen black cedar either...
This one is 30" x 15" x 12 1/2"

Judging by the style of lock used on this one, it's probably from the40's or 50's. I've never seen one cedar lined unless someone added it later on down the road. That discoloration could possibly be the glue, used to attach the cedar, starting to show thru. I could be wrong about that though. Still a nice and unusual looking trunk though. I do really love this one.

Thanks jscott, I really had no idea how old it was and I do think someone must have added it too. Not that I'm an expert but I have never seen one with cedar either and I've had my share of them. It really would have been a good idea for them all to be made with cedar tho, maybe they wouldn't have been prone to get that nasty smell. Easy enough sometimes to get rid of tho.
