the doll is about 7.5" tall.
there is an embossed marking in between the shoulders, on the back.
it is of course unreadable.
the material is quite hard and thought of plastic at first.
now I I wonder if it is perhaps what is called "composition".
the face and hair are rather naively painted.
I mean it is cute but it doesn't look like a skilled painter did it...
any info about the maker or the doll is appreciated.
not sure if important the limbs have metal hooks connected by a strong elastic like string.
thank you...
Hi sorry I missed your girl . She appears to have been totally repainted to me . These little composition dolls were made by many companies from 30's to end of 40's some even into 50's . They were inexpensive dolls at the time a girl could carry with her easily and sew for also . Composition did not hold up well and the painting is not original to her . From photo hard to say who she would have looked like prior to re painting she may have had a wig at one time . The most popular composition doll of this era would be a Vogue Toddler/Early Ginny Doll . IF she was her could not tell anymore .

thanks for the info...
I know it did not help say who made her as when repainted it filled in much of mark on back too .
