This painting was given to me by a friend. It has the signature M.Scott on the lower left side and I can feel the raised paint like it's popping out at you. I have also tried to research this painting online as well and had no luck. If anyone has any information on this I would greately appreciat it. Thank you.

There are a lot of oil painting artists with the initial M and last name as Scott. However, none of the artists I know of with the same first name initial and last name Scott paints in the style of the one you have. Furthermore, there are many more unknown artists nationwide. The painter who painted your painting might be well-known locally. However, it's beyond my knowledge, and I am sorry that I cannot give you any information on the artist.

However, if you were to learn more information about the artist for the purpose of determine the value of the painting, other than only the appreciation of the painting, then I can tell you that it is not a highly valuable one. it is very pretty, and the artist is skillful. Nevertheless, this one is not a piece painted by any well-known S. Scott; it is not an antique painting either. Other than who the artist is or the value of the painting, I can appreciate the beautiful scene and serenity of the atmosphere of the painting.

Wow, Dave I just found another website that said exactly the same thing you said here. Word for word.

Cindy Beautiful painting! The painting in the link above is similar to yours. I find this painting to be very similar to Bob Ross painting. He had a show called The Joy Of Painting. You might have seen it on PBS or something when you were younger. If you type in M Scott painting on e-bay, you can find a value. I found 3. One similar to yours, being unframed.

I am trying to find the value of these 3D paintings by M. Scott as well and don't have it yet, but I can provide a little more info. We bought our paintings at the Greek Festival held in St. Louis, MO about 5 years ago. I don't remember if the artist was there or not though, but perhaps he/she is from St. Louis.

We too have a painting like the one above. We bought it from a girl , " Tamar. Cohen, also a student and artist" who was going door to door in our business complex in Maryland. The artists were a group of "Israeli art students who were " promoting their art show in Soho " . This is the line we were fed. Several people bought several paintings, paying anywhere from $100 to $200 per painting. However, about a month later , we happened to walk into a BJ's warehouse store and found hundreds of the paintings identical to what the " art student" had been peddling to us. I could be wrong, but my opinion is that these " paintings" are mass produced and the signature M. Scott is just an ambiguous / generic signature. ( I have also seen several different types and styles of paintings/ prints with the same signature.

Hi, I too have a beautiful painting by the artist M Scott, and I can confirm that he does (or at least did) exist 15 years ago when my husband purchased the painting for me as a gift, M Scott is/was a local artist to the Cheshire area in England, I am not exactly sure which part of Cheshire however my husband purchased the painting from his stall in The town of Sale in Cheshire. He also framed it for which I believe was an additional skill he had. I believe my husband paid in the region of £100 at the time. We talked for a while about his work, he appeared gentlemanly and kind in his manner and I felt genuine passion for what he did, he was a lovely man and the painting hangs proudly in our bedroom as it has done since purchase.
I am unsure if M Scott continues to produce work as we moved from the area several years ago. I hope this helps a little towards understanding a bit more about the artist and you have as much enjoyment from his artwork as I do.

Hi Cindy. I too have a very similar 3d painting signed M. Scott! two large 3d trees on the left bank of a river being fed by a waterfall a little ways back. To the right of the waterfall, a river bank with two more 3d trees . Set farther back , faded tree line with snowy mountain peeks ! A very Beautiful 3d painting

So I just happened to come across this site because I was looking for some info on M. Scott. What little I know. Oh gosh maybe 20 years ago give or take a few my parents would frequent a flea market called Wagon Wheel I believe in Clearwater/Largo Florida. One day they called me over to their house to show me a bunch of oil paintings they bought dirt cheap from the flea market. They were all sold from M. Scott to my parents. These paintings were beautiful. Every time I went to their home I would stand there admiring them. My Mother told me one day I could have half of the paintings and my sister could have the other half. I now own 5 M. Scott paintings and my most favorite is of a winter scene with woods and a mountain in the background. The coolest feature is as you described, "I can feel the raised paint like it's popping out at you". There are a couple trees that have this feature. It is so dang cool.
